Travel for a temple wedding outside Bangalore
A temple wedding outside Bangalore inverts the usual travel problem. The muhurtham is fixed and unmovable, often between four and seven in the morning, and everything about the journey works backwards from it. That means either a pre-dawn departure with the party arriving tired, or an overnight stay near the temple with accommodation for everyone. Groups that choose the pre-dawn drive underestimate how early it has to start; groups that choose the overnight underestimate how hard rooms are to find near a popular wedding temple in season.

01:30 assembly at one point in Bangalore. Depart 02:00, arrive at the temple by 05:00 for a 05:30 muhurtham. Ceremony and meal at the temple. Return to Bangalore by early afternoon, in time for an evening reception.
Overnight, further temples
Travel the evening before
Depart Bangalore in the early evening, night halt near the temple, everyone rested for the muhurtham. Return the following afternoon. Costs an extra day of vehicle and bata, and is worth it for anything beyond about 200 km.

Questions we get asked
What time do we need to leave Bangalore for a 05:30 muhurtham at Mysore?
Around 02:00, assembling at 01:30. That gets you there by 05:00 with a margin for the assembly running late, which it always does. Working back from the map alone gives an answer about forty minutes too optimistic.
Is a pre-dawn drive or an overnight stay better?
Pre-dawn works for Mysore, Shravanabelagola and Shivanasamudra. For anything beyond roughly 200 km — certainly for Tirupati — travel the evening before. A wedding party that has been awake since one in the morning does not enjoy the ceremony.
Can the vehicle wait at the temple through the ceremony?
Yes. Temple weddings are charged as a day booking with bata, so the vehicle stays with you. Parking is at actuals and most temples have a designated area rather than sanctum-side access.
What does the bride's vehicle need that the others do not?
Space for the outfit and jewellery boxes without them being sat on, curtains for privacy, and a driver briefed to park closest to the entrance. In practice that means an Urbania, and it is worth allocating deliberately rather than leaving to chance.
One last thing
One detail worth confirming with the temple office and not the family: whether the muhurtham is fixed to the temple's stated time or to the priest's arrival. The two differ often enough that a group can be an hour early or, worse, late for something that cannot be rescheduled.
